I am so fed up , ive torn my muscle on the inside of my knee , dont know how ive done it as ive only been the dentist today , im laying on the bed with a bag of peas on it , the same thing happen to my left knee before it was replaced, the muscle is cut away so it doesn't hurt when bending it any more, am going to Alton towers tomorrow with my son (5) and sister, i just dont know how im going to do it ! she has said she will push me in a wheel chair , hate this bloody disease it just wrecks every thing, i only planned the trip because next week im getting my Rituximab and also seeing the OT , ENT consultant and have a yearly check up on my knee replacement so am in hospital every day from Tuesday till Friday ThumbDown , have felt awful for the last week or so pain in hands and feet has come back with revenge and its 8 months since i had the Rituximab should of had it last month but was cancelled due to a sinus infection, am praying i wake tomorrow and the knee has calmed down.

Oh Sophie

You poor thing. Yes RA spoils all our fun. If they are happy to push you in a chair
accept it otherwise it will spoil day out.

Enjoy

Oh Sophie - I know exactly how you feel (my Jim is 8) - I hope things settle down a bit overnight. Even if they do - consider just having the wheelchair on standby. Even if you can walk a bit - you can rest on it to help you round. I know you will find a way. Thinking of you - hope you have a good day. Let us know how you get on.

Hi im back ThumpUp ,, got home yesterday about 6 went straight to sleep for an hour i was exhausted , Alton towers was fab , but so big ! i got the wheel chair and had to use it for the 2 days round the park , before i went my mum came up with a good idea , to put a pull on tube bandage on my knee , this really helped the cartilage from not popping out wear its torn, ive rang the hospital first thing this morning as knee is full of fluid now and definitely needs draining just hope i can get it done tomorrow as im there from 9.30 seeing the OT and then have to wait till 12 to see doctor for bloods and chest x ray before getting the Rituximab on Wednesday, they haven't rang back yet though, my sister has said she will take my son to school for me all week as i cant really walk with my knee and my mum is picking him up , next time i go to Alton towers ( wont be for a few years ) i would try and organise an electric wheel chair or scooter as it is all up hill and its a nightmare for the person who has to push LOL,
The only good thing was we got wrist bands that let you go on the ride at the exit so you didn't que up (some ques were 1 hour long for each ride ) although i didnt go on any my sister was able to go on them with my son , this was because i was in the wheel chair . let you now how i get on with all my appointments later in the week,

Hi Sophie,

So glad you and your family had a fab time, your little boy would have been shattered too. Glad there is some perks to being in a wheel chair, saved you from the normal queues. Hope you knee is ok on Wednesday and you get a good spell for a while. Take care Lorna xx Smile
